Allison Schulnik: LA Film Festival and Times Square

Allison Schulnik‘s most recent video, “Forest,” (2009) is getting super-sized. As we like to say, “go big or go home….for hobo,” and Schulnik’s infamous nomadic vagabond is making his New York debut in a big way: on the MTV screen in Times Square. Curated and produced by Creative Time, “Forest” will screen in rotation with works by Rob Carter and Graeme Patterson June 15 – July 15th. Should you find yourself between 44th and 45th Avenue on Broadway – in front of the MTV Building – it’s likely you’ll catch her clay-animated magic on the streets of NYC.

Additionally, “Forest” will be featured in the upcoming 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival! Featured in the “Ecelectic Mix 2” screening for music videos, Schulnik’s piece can be seen on the evenings of June 18th (8pm) and 20th (7pm) at the Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Sound Stage. Tickets are on sale June 1 at www.lafilmfest.com – we recommend buying them ASAP!

Looks like this summer is going to be a busy one for Ms. Schulnik….as her works will also be featured in two upcoming group exhibitions in New York! First up, Schulnik will be featured in CANADA‘s “Homunculi,” on view June 4 – July 11, alongside artists Matt Greene, Ruby Neri and Matthew Ronay. Opening on June 24, “Touched” at Lehmann Maupin will also feature new paintings by Schulnik in addition to works by Maria Nepomuceno and Klara Kristalova. The exhibition will be on view through August 13, 2010.

So really, if you’re on either coastline Allison’s got you covered…
