In conjunction with its 5th anniversary, Skew Gallery (Calgary, Alberta) will mount its third solo exhibition for Kim Dorland. Showcasing new works and a narrative sensibility, the exhibition is surely not to be missed, and is on view September 10 – October 10, 2009.

Pick up the September issue of Art + Auction, and you will find Tim Bavington within its glossy pages. The publication wrote a career-encompassing feature on our stripe-savvy friend in anticipation of his upcoming solo show at Jack Shainman Gallery (New York, NY). Brilliant!
The McColl Center for Visual Art (Charlotte, NC) is mounting an exhibition featuring notable artists from its past. Astutely titled, “Decade: 10 Artists from the Center’s First 10 Years” will feature MMG’s Kenichi Yokono, alongside Shaun Cassidy, Rob Carter, Nick Cave, Rae Goodwin, Susan Harbage Page, Hongsock Lee, Willie Little, Gabi Nkosi and Renee Stout.

The University of Maine Museum of Art is currently featuring works by MMG’s David Hilliard, on view through September 19, 2009. “Highway of Thought: Photographs by David Hilliard” is showing in conjunction with exhibitions by Connie Imboden and Christopher Frost.
